The Centre for the Literary Present (ZLG) is an interdisciplinary network situated at the University of Zurich and is dedicated to inquiries into and presentation of literary contemporaneity.
The Centre for the Literary Present (ZLG) is an interdisciplinary network situated at the University of Zurich and is dedicated to inquiries into and presentation of literary contemporaneity.
Its goals are especially
to intensify and dynamise literary scholarship concerned with the literary present,
to assemble and concentrate the manifold engagements with contemporary literature as they already exist, although distributed in the diverse philological sub-disciplines at UZH, and to render them more visible to the public,
to provide UZH's literary scholarship with an additional and powerful channel for national and international networking,
to engage in core debates of contemporary literature together with authors and with other actors of contemporary literary culture (publishers, critics, etc.)
to present the results of its activities with immediacy and in professional fashion to an interested broader audience.
The ZLG's activities thus include research, teaching, and public outreach.
